Beautiful Dobro square neck resonator in sunburst, dating from circa 1930s (USA).
 
Dobros are notoriously difficult to date, however a few appointments signal that production of this one is late 1930s, being Regal-made with many hallmarks of the period. These include: top f holes, very dark brown shaded sides, 'made in USA' stamped upside down to headstock, 14 stamped spider cone, Radiotone tailpiece (often used by Regal when they ran out of standard tailpieces), etc.
 
Specs and models changed year to year - if anyone has any more specific insight, this would be much appreciated!
