A beautiful Selmer dating from 1959 Truvoice 'The Professional' TV12/T, made in England.
An iconic Selmer model finished in its original red/cream 'blood and custard' colour combination, which is typical of the period. The 'T' in this model number 'TV12/T' refers to the on board tremolo, which was an option on these amps at the time. It has survived the decades well and appears largely original save for running repairs - even retaining its original valves.
Selmer specs and serials vary somewhat, though I've narrowed the production year down to 1959.
It has been given a full service by Coopersonic (Nottingham - highly recommended) who undertook the following maintenance to bring it to playing condition:
- Test all valves
- Clean valve sockets, valve pins
- New mains plug
- Reform can capacitor
- Replace 10x capacitors
- Replace 3x resistors
- Clean up chassis earth connections
- Clean panel, knobs, box; re-glue covering
- Clean footswitch
- PAT test
- New Speaker Jensen C12Q
As such, its playing wonderfully and sounding very sweet indeed. Nicely balanced by typically warm for a late 50s amp. The tremolo is subtle and provides a nice 50s shimmer to play. Cranked loud, it can be driven for a great driven sound and the controls provide a lot of room to experiment with tone.
In great cosmetic condition for a now 65 year old amp, having been fairly well kept. Some minor surface marks, but structurally sound and electrically great. It retains its original tremolo footswitch (pictured).

All guitars receive a basic shop setup, including the action being set comfortably, a fresh set of strings and all electronics / pots cleaned (unless otherwise specified). I would recommend having any guitar setup to your preferences following delivery to suit your preferred playing style and string gauge, etc.
