Guild Starfire VI model, made in USA (1965).

Guild's highest-end offering for a semi-hollow bodied electric guitar dating from its first year of issue - the Starfire VI. There were 6 iterations of the Starfire model, with the Starfire I being the plainest and the VI being the top of the line offering, with no expense spared on appointments. Marketed as a competitor to Gibson's ES-355 sharing many features in common, including a striking Cherry Red finish, gold hardware and an ebony fingerboard.

Specs:

  • Factory Cherry Red finish
  • Gold Grover Pat. No tuners
  • Gold Guild-branded factory Bigsby tremolo and bridge
  • Pearl triangle block inlays
  • 2x original 1965 Guild humbuckers
  • Ebony fingerboard
  • Semi hollow laminated maple body

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition, free of breaks or any notable repairs. Near all original, save for replaced master volume knob and removed pick guard. Plenty of natural lacquer checking to the original Cherry Red finish and tarnishing to the factory gold hardware. Playing wear commensurate with near 60 years of ownership.

Modifications/repairs:

Replaced master volume knob, missing original pick guard. Neck binding had very slight lift to end of board, now secured.

Accessories:

None.

A classic Guild model with some phenomenal specs which easily stands up to its 60s USA contemporaries.
