Gibson SG Standard model dating from 1974, complete with a slightly later chainsaw hard case.

The early 70s saw some changes to the SG Standard model, including an unbound neck with ebony fretboard, the addition of a 'harmonica' bridge and 2x 'Tarback' humbucker pickups.

Specs:

Faded Cherry finish

2x factory Tarback humbucker pickups

Mahogany body and neck

Ebony fingerboard

Slim nut width / neck profile

Condition:

Good condition for a now 50 year old Gibson, without any of the typical neck breaks. Finish is Cherry Red, which has sun-faded to a beautiful dark brown (Cherry still visible under pickguard). Some dings, marks and signs of playing wear commensurate with 50 years of play.

Modifications/repairs:

Signs of a previously fitted tremolo (removed) visible below tailpiece. Pots are later replacements, all other electronics original. Signs of a historic (common) bottom repair near the input jack / back cavity, expertly executed with no refinishing and blacklighting perfectly.

Accessories:

Slightly later Gibson fitted chainsaw hard case.
