Super cool Hagstrom Swede model, made in Sweden.
Serial number prefix (983) puts the year of production as 1975 - one of only 500 Swede models produced that year.
These models could be special-ordered with Dimarzio pickups at the time - and this is one such example, having 2x factory-fitted Dimarzio humbuckers with accompanying coil switches between the volume/tone controls.
Hagstrom produced the Swede to compete with Les Paul, as evidenced by the shape and the inclusion of heavier pickups. As such, these were produced to an excellent standard with top end materials - including an ebony fingerboard.
It comes with what I believe is its original fitted hard case. Bar missing its pickguard (though screws have been retained) and replaced tuners, it appears to be otherwise original.
Specs:
- Country of origin: Sweden
- Year of manufacture: 1975 (1/500)
- Natural finish
- Mahogany body
- Ebony fingerbord
- 2x factory Dimarzio Humbucker pickups
- Original hard case
Condition:
Well-played, but free of any breaks or significant damage. There has been a minor binding/impact repair to the bass side of the neck (pictured), a well-done job and it is flush to the touch. All original finish and electronics, including factory Dimarzio pickups. The tuners are not original, though if I'm not mistaken they're top-quality period Grecos (star backs), which are desriable in their own right. Case appears original, if not period and fits the guitar snugly.
Modifications/repairs:
Replaced period tuners, minor binding repair to bass side of neck, pickguard removed.
Accessories:
Original heavy duty hard case.
