Gibson Les Paul Deluxe model dating from 1978, made in Kalamazoo USA.

A beautiful example of an overlooked vintage Les Paul model, having been in the position of a single owner since 1983.

Wholly original save for the tuners (vintage deluxe Schallers) which are both period correct and fitted very early in the guitar's life. Wholly untouched and complete wiring retaining its metal shield, all pots date to '78. Pickups are the famed factory original mini humbuckers, date stamped DEC 1977.

Original finish, no routing, no breaks or repairs and it even retains its original frets and binding nibs. It also comes with its original Gibson blue-lined hard case, complementing the guitar beautifully.

Specs:

  • Factory Sunburst finish
  • Wide 1 11/16' nut
  • 2x factory Mini Humbucker pickups
  • Rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays
  • 60s slim profile, 3 piece maple neck
  • Original hard case

Condition:

Great condition for a 70s Les Paul, free of the usual breaks, modifications and refinishes often seen on instruments of this period. The finish is original, retains a nice sheen with some minor wear to the common playing areas, such as the sides. Some minimal dings and marks commensurate with 47 years of play, which I have tried to capture in the photographs. Original super low 70s profile frets, complete with binding nibs. A little buckle rash, as pictured. Frets have some wear, namely between 1-5, but nothing causing any great issue. Plays beautifully, sounds phenomenal. Weight is about 10-11 pounds, pretty typical of a 70s Les Paul. Not notably or excessively heavy, though. Case is fairly worn, but all latches work and it pairs beautifully with the guitar.
